Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and innovative Associate Designer to join our Swim & Active team. This position plays a crucial role in assisting the design team in conceptualizing, developing, and executing innovative designs for both the swimwear, apparel and activewear collections. The ideal candidate has the determination to meet deadlines, and a passionate approach to staying current with design trends.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with senior swim + active designers to assist in all areas of design and product development for swim, activewear, and apparel
• Assist in the creation of line design and design concepts, helping with technical sketches, and building Tech Packs.
• Maintain Line Sheets: Ensure that all product information for design details are recorded accurately.
• Responsible for all SMU requests per approval from Fashion Director.
• Research and identify trends relevant for Beach Riot.
• Find fabric, trim, and print inspiration.
• Sketch new bodies in Adobe Illustrator with direction from Senior Designers.
• Assist in techpack hand-offs: BOMs, Construction pages, CADs.
• Set up color palettes in Adobe Illustrator.
• Help set up print/art files for approval.
• Update seasonal tracker.
• Maintain and organize submits and approvals in seasonal binders.
• Help create simple repeat prints.
• Fittings: Play a role in the fitting process, to ensure our designs achieve the perfect fit and and meet our quality standards.
• Maintain CAD library.
• Fabric Library Organization: Manage and maintain the fabric headers, making it easy for the team to access materials and trims for inspiration and sampling.
• Attention to detail and highly organized.
• Takes initiative and efficiently communicates.
• Navigates with a sense of urgency and attention to timelines.

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Associates degree in Fashion Design, 2+ years relevant work experience.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Google Sheets and Google Docs.
• Self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong sense of creativity and sketching skills in Adobe Illustrator.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with the design team.
• Detail oriented eye for elevated aesthetics, ensuring the quality and visual appeal for our collections is on brand.
• Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks/projects, and work well within a team.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction.
• Knowledge of swimwear or activewear is preferred.
• Knowledge of fully fashioned knitwear and/or coverups is a plus.
