We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer / Planner to join our Planning team.Position Title: BUYER

Position Type: Full Time / Salary Exempt

Reporting To: Director of Buying

Location: Z SUPPLY – Costa Mesa, CA

Work Type: Hybrid In Office 2-3 Days / Remote 2-3 Days

Job Overview

The Buyer is responsible for the planning, buying and maintenance of the inventory for multiple categories and divisions within the Z Supply brand umbrella. They will work collaboratively to help create an exciting and profitable assortment that will meet or exceed sales expectations. The Buyer must adhere to assigned financial targets and open-to-buy plans and also consider critical factors when making purchase decisions, including market trends, competitive analysis, product seasonality and flow, and pricing strategy. This position works closely with many teams, including Design, Creative, Production, Marketing, and Sales. The buyer must work cross-functionally with these departments to ensure maximized sales and inventory sell-throughs.Position Duties / Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain ownership of inventory buys for multiple categories and divisions.
  • Create and maintain open-to-buy for multiple categories and divisions.
  • Responsible for managing inventory levels and flow throughout the entire product life-cycle, starting from buys and through to closeouts
  • Prepare and analyze selling reports to respond to current trends and make recommendations for merchandise re-orders and identify product opportunities, trends and offerings missing in our current assortment.
  • Filtering high-level, topline selling takeaways to management with action plans
  • Manage omnichannel inventory transfers between wholesale and ecommerce channels to maximize total company sales.
  • Work cross-functionally with Creative & Marketing teams to plan most effective content strategies to maximize sales based on buys.
  • Work cross-functionally with Merchandising & Design team to plan effective and profitable product assortment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Competencies

  • 2+ years of relevant apparel buying experience (ecommerce experience preferred)
  • High level of proficiency in Excel including pivot tables, formulas, v-lookups, etc.
  • Experience with Full Circle ERP and Shopify Plus preferred
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Understanding of retail vocabulary and the application of retail math
  • Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
  • Demonstrate initiative, innovation, and follow through
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
